Best Austin date night spots beyond dinner and a movie

Most lists of the best Austin date night spots stop at a nice restaurant and a rooftop. Those are fine. But in past issues of the newsletter, the dates that sounded most fun all involved doing something: soldering glass, watching strangers get set up on stage, or quietly losing to each other at LEGO.

This guide collects the venues and recurring nights that keep showing up in our picks. Dates and prices below come from past events, so treat them as a sense of what each place is like and roughly what it costs. For what's happening tonight, the WhatsGoodATX app maps it. For a specific weekend, start with our things to do in Austin this weekend roundup.
